Spanish Teaching and Evaluation Course

I chose to take a course as a teacher of Spanish as a second language to broaden by professional horizons. Currently, I work as an English teacher, teaching a class of adults, depending on the local institution.

Nevertheless, it´s only for about 4 hours a week and therefore i need to broaden by perspectives and professional ambitions. I was prepared to immigrate to another country if it would help me and give me the option to work as a teacher. In the end, I decided to start this course at Instituto Hemingway.

From a young age i knew that i wanted to train in the world of teaching because i like to teach and do it in the best possible way. My experience as an English teacher has helped me to progress in the course, but the truth is that having a certificate for pedagogic skills did not help me to review the different methadologies or assessments.

In this way, i have to say that the ELE course for teachers has been a very useful way to increase my knowledge and improve my competence as i am now completely aware of the methadology that i work with. I would like to use this methadology when i give classes to foreigners, to communicate skills and to work through tasks.

Likewise, I welcome formative and qualitative evaluation, ulike before (since previosuly I was only thinking about summative and quantative evaluation.) I´ve learnt that these evaluation types are equally important and sometimes can be rewarding when they are used in specific courses, like for example those that are´nt regulated.

I think that now i´ve finished the course it´s of great importance to continue to re-use them and to continue training. In this way, I hope to continue taking different courses designed for Spanish teacher’s as a second language as well as attending conferences or talks aimed at the world of teaching foreign languages. This then allows me to work in a completely competent and autonomous way.
