Usage of TIC in our Spanish courses
As a summary of my memories of the course, I would like to write a note for the blog about learning languages through red.
Nowadays, everybody knows (or at least suspect) the possibilities offered by the new technologies (TIC) for learning, not only for professional work (at school/university,…) but also for the everyday use (activities in your free time), making the process of learning autonomic and autodidactic for people. We’ve seen over the years that there is a huge variety of ELE courses in red, as well as other courses that people usually don’t think of when it comes to this subject.
Sometimes the appeals that we can find on the pages of ELE or on the internet cannot always convince us when it comes to the objectives that we have set for ourselves. In this case, it can be useful to create our own appeals. Currently, we dispose of a large variety and simplicity for this purpose: you can make videos, podcasts, take pictures, set up questionnaires and web quests, and many more. The most important is to over think what exactly you would like to learn and to think about the target group and its needs.
Thinking about the course, I would like to present the opportunities and possibilities that a virtual environment offers us for the process of learning, using synchronized tools like video conferences in order to improve the interaction between the professor and the students, as well as audiovisual appeals for discussions and the work of each student. It is not a very new way of thinking but a process that takes some time and that is still in progress instead. You can find on red (i.e. in special reviews of ELE) some really innovative and enriched experiences of learning Spanish.
Finally, it is important to keep in mind that we should not forget that in education, modern technologies must serve as tools for the process of learning and for nothing else. But since they offer many opportunities the improve the way of learning, why shouldn’t we use them?
