Relationship between teacher and student in the Spanish courses
During this course we spoke about the "student-teacher relationship" when we would give a clase.
In theory the comunicative method garanties a eager student who takes part in the lessons and that the teaching is centered in the student respecting his character and covering his needs. It is aware of the student who participates in the elaboration and the rework of the program and it manifests his needs.
Well now, my recent experience as student shows me that it`s not always like that. Before little i have been living in New York for nearly a year. There i did a normal semester of English and after that a preparation course for the TOEFL exam.
The truth is that I had two teachers who did their clases following the comunicative method, with a lot of activities which trained all the different skills you need, activities supposed to approch us to the different tasks and with a lot of real situations in which we had to use our English.
Despite of all that doubtlessly only one of them was interested in the students at all. I got a great memory of him since he showed interest in the hobbies, interests, studies, etc..of every single student from the first day on.
Like, knowing I had been studying music he gave me a book in English about the history of "Rock`n`Roll" and he said: "For you to keep learning English and enjoy it."
