New employment options as a Spanish teacher

I decided to do this course as a way of increasing my employment possibilities. I am a graduate in English Studies and I have been teaching this language since I finished studying. However, given the demand for Spanish teachers, both abroad and in different centres in Spain, it seemed an interesting opportunity to widen my training and my employment opportunities.

I think that the fact that the course can be taken online is a big asset as it has allowed me to balance my job with the course in the way that was most convenient for me, without the pressures of deadlines and I was able to choose when and how much time I wanted to dedicate to studying. Everything has been much easier this way.

Being a teacher of another language is a continuous challenge; you work with children, adolescents, adults and large groups or small groups. Keeping the students´ attention and ensuring that they leave class with the feeling that they have learnt something is a challenge for any teacher. This course enabled me to discover the different needs of students studying Spanish compared to English, something which is very important for any teacher who wishes to do they job well. Furthermore, I discovered many sources of information, resources, and activities.

Overall, I think it was a positive and enriching experience and I recommend it to any languages teacher who wishes to dedicate themselves to teaching Spanish in the future.
